How-To Organize Your Paper Files - Using Legacy Family Tree
Page 28 of 30

Because both Legacy and these archival notebooks use the MRIN system to organize documents, the notebooks are always expanding. As new families are entered into Legacy, they are assigned the first available MRIN. When one notebook gets full, you can easily set up another notebook and begin adding to it. In an alphabetical organizational system, there is always the need to rearrange notebooks as they get full. As you merge families, MRIN numbers can be reassigned, so there is no need to leave blank spaces in the binders, and they are readily available for family usage. Researchers can use clear see-through binders, or leather-like binders that look nice on the shelf and that are appreciated by genealogical and historical societies because they are so well organized.
